He nodded and twisted his lips just as she winced is pain
“Are you okay?”
She sighed, “my cheek hurts a bit still” she sad softly and looked at him directly
He brought his hands up to her face and brushed the mark slightly before pulling away and shaking his head.
“That’s going to leave an ugly bruise.” He said and then took another sip of his drink.
“I’m sure everyone at school will notice.”She sighed and looked at him. Her cheek swelling. “It looks really bad then I suppose” she said softly.
Feeling only some of his touch against her cheek.
“At least I’m not any uglier….” She joked trying to get him to smile.
She picked up her drink and downed the rest of it quickly. “So you ready to study?” She asked trying to change the subject.
Internally thinking off ways to lessen the swelling. He shook his head at her remark. Her attempt at changing the subject as well as cheer up the mood wasn’t helping him any.
He stood up and walked towards the door.“I’ll go get the books… i have your sketch book… you left it at the table in the library.” He said as he slipped out of the cottage and into the car to get their things.
He returned moments later and sat down beside her placing their books on the coffee table that was in the front of them.“Would you like another drink?” He asked softly as he quickly finished the rest of his own.
She sighed, then looked up in surprise as he mentioned he had her sketch book. “D-did you look at it?” She asked.
She had hoped he hadn’t. No one had seen her sketches. It was too personal.
As he left she leaned back. Twiddling her fingers as she waited. When he returned she smiled.
“I would love another drink. If that’s okay with you I suppose?” She said and opened up her old journal and the text book. “So what do you still need help with on what we are currently learning?” She asked
