Dalton was in the middle of getting a table’s drink orders. Hypnotica was at its peak of the night. Friday, the lights dim lit the music playing was a request band playing some remix/trap music. It filled the room with a hum. People danced in the center of the hardwood dance floor.
Others were scattered at the plentiful seating options from the upstairs balcony area to the small raised floor sections surrounding the dance floor. As he was finishing up orders he started to walk towards the bar. Which in his case with it crowded made him walk by the entrance of the bar.
She watched him go before looking back at the girls they had just left. She should have known that the night was going to prove to be entertaining for her.
“That sounds like a plan to me, sir.” She leaned against the bar and looked at him. “Is there anything that you’re curious about?” She raised a brow, noticing his staring.
“No questions yet. But maybe you could tell me about yourself without them?” He asked. He handed her one of the shots and took the other and raised it up to give a cheers before knocking it back. It stung as usual but In the best sense possible. The alcohol washed through his body a brief wave of heat.
She down the shot with him before slamming it down onto the counter along with him. “Well I work over at the high school as an English teacher. I’m actually a mother to a four year old son from a very bad marriage.” She sighed softly. “It’s your turn.”
He slammed his glass on the table after flipping it and nodded at her statement, “I am without any kids. I work here honestly just to fill in my free time. I’m already well off and have nothing better to do. It keeps me humble though” he said and handed her a second shot and taking another for himself.
