Elsa nearly jumped when Mr. gold laughed but she tried to remain calm. She smiled hesitantly before walking over to his counter. “I found this box. In my room back in Arendelle. Anna has me on leave to relax. She thinks I’m getting overwhelmed” she almost huffed a cloud of ice from the frustration at the situation. But pushed it aside. “The thing is Mr. Gold. Though I recognize the box and it does feel quite familiar along with the person who must’ve given it to me. My memory is hazy around who that person might be” she said as she pulled the box out and delicately placed it on the old counter. “I just need to know if you can tell me who made it. Or whom I can go to to find out more about this box” she explained.
Elsa nodded as Ruby decided to depart Elsa turned her head and smiled softly. “Have a good night Ruby!” She spoke out as the door shut and she turned back to Era.
She didn’t need to see her stomach to know what/who she was. For some reason she felt like she’d already known. And for that she looked at Era, “how’s your head?” She asked her. Still channeling enough cold it seemed to cool her down.
Era sighed softly, her head still dizzy..as if drunk by a memory swarming in her mind. She gently stroked the side of Elsa’s cheek, a light smile on her face. “My..my head is okay- for now…but..but ..I know you..oh Elsa. How could I ever forget you?” She felt tears sting the back of her eyes. She couldnt remember everything, but she did remember what she did..the night in the castle- Elsa herself bandaging her wounds with her ice magic.
“Its..coming back, but..but slowly..I’m so sorry I forgotten you..I promised I would come back” She leaned up slowly, loosely pulling Elsa into a hug with her one hand still cupping her cheek. “I missed you..it’s..it’s been so long..” she closed her eyes trying to blink back the tears. She never shed tears where anyone could see- it was a weakness she had thought for so long, but here..now, she couldn’t help herself.
Elsa watched her begin to cry, she listened to her words and smiled softly. Wiping her tears away as best she could. She nodded, “it’s okay! It is okay Era. It happened to me too….how could I be upset with you for that?” She asked.
“Oh I’m so glad you’re safe” she mumbled and hugged the small woman to her. She didn’t cry but her heart beat fast and with excitement and relief. This pressure she hadn’t even realized was there felt lifted. “Shhhhh, just breath. I’m right here” she whispered and brushed her hair.
Era blushed, never having someone touch her face nor wipe her tears away. She tried to speak, to reply but she knew her voice would break, so instead of speaking she took a moment and breathed in a shaky breathe. She pulled back just so their faces were inches apart, then slowly tilted her head and moved forward placing a single kiss to Elsa’s cheek, then whispered in her ear. “I haven’t forgotten..maybe the memories, but never the feeling” she closed her eyes and leaned back, her face completely flush across her cheeks.
She then sat up the best she could, letting her go but cupping her face in her hands, listening to her words but looking intently into her blue eyes. “I made a promise I would come back.” She huffed for a moment, she had stopped crying but the tears still were wet on her cheeks. “I made a promise..and I feel as If I’ve broken it. But you..you look more..more elegant..strong and beautiful then- I mean..” she gulped down her words. “You seem different. A good different, a queen. Thats what Ruby had mentioned to me earlier. Queen now…I’m sorry..I couldn’t return” her lips pursed in a pouting frown.
She felt her warm hands cup her face and she was surprised. Only Anna ever really got close to her. Mainly cause she’d still had few people as close to her as Anna. It was a weird flutter in her stomach. “It’s okay. We found eahother Anyways. You’ll come back to Arendelle when it’s the right time.” She said
When she pointed out that she was queen she remembered another thing. She had just lost her parents when she found Era. That was a few years ago now. Before she’d been crowned. She looked at Era and smiled softly. “Yes, I took over the thrown. When I turned of age. Although I’m sort of glad you weren’t there cause that was like one big mess.” She said with an awkward laugh. She suddenly hugged Era tightly. Surprisingly with quite a bit of strength.
She felt a dull pain in her side at the mention of Arendelle. That place is where it happened, The first place she had ever gone to when she left this world. It was so familiar yet she couldnt place it on her tongue, a memory that She tried to forget, not because of the curse or spell placed upon her. A memory sprung, hitting her mind like a fallen tree. “Oh Elsa….” She spoke softly, her arms wrapping loosely around her neck as Elsa hugged her. “I’d forgotten you told me what happened, of your parents leaving and-”
She traced her fingers lightly along her shoulder cutting off her words not wishing to dig up a hurtful wound and instead changing the topic. “A mess?” She lightly pulled back, not enough to break her grip but just so she could look at her in a teasing motion. “A mess is how you found me. Oh well..I take it you had to finally show the- well..now your kingdom- your power over winter?”
She sighed and gave a small smile, “it’s alright. No need to apologize” she said and when the small woman looked up at her at the mention of the mess. She sighed.
“Let’s just put it like this.” She paused for a moment, “Arendelle and the fiords became a snow globe for a brief period of time. And I almost lost Anna in the process” she explained. It wasn’t terribly painful but it wasn’t a noce memory necessarily either. She thought.
