Astrid had been patrolling on an island not far from berk. When suddenly she saw something….appear? It was almost dragon like. But something was off. She’d already. Landed and was watching the creature closely from away.
Astrid looked wide eyed and then looked down at Stormfly. “You and I are really gonna have to talk about that” she whispered to the dragon and stormfly garbled at her.
Astrid looked at Hiccup and raised her hands in defense. “Makes me wonder what toothless has to say about you” she looked at the night fury and chuckled some. Snotlout laughed at the jokes and also was enjoying Ben’s grip on him.
That was when Hookfang decided to be cheeky as he made a quick dive as Ben shrieked in alarm, quickly grabbing onto Snotlout. Hiccup just face palmed and Toothless warbled softly. “ Alright guys stop fooling around and get focused.” Hiccup told his team as Hookfang flew back into his original spot.
Snotlout jumped at Bens sudden tightening grasp around his waist. He nudged Hookfang “Stop it Hookfang” he grumbled and leaned back he touched Bens knee in reassurance “it’s okay he just thinks he’s funny” he said to Ben.
Astrid spotted the ship and waved for them to follow as she flew down.
Once the team landed Ben started looking at some of the damage. He started to become tense as he recognized some of it. The tattered sails had clear evidence of gunfire as he quickly activated his watch and became XLR8, the alien Astrid encountered. There was a lot of blood on the deck of the ship. “ Something is seriously wrong.” Hiccup said softly to Astrid.
Astrid was looking around and she nodded in agreement. She noticed Ben transform and looked at him, “What’s wrong?” She asked him. Snotlout had notice the concern on his face before he changed. He was worried.
“ This damage wasn’t caused by dragon’s attacking. Vilgax sends out drones to do his dirty work for him. And the damage matches other attacks I’ve seen.” XLR8 said to Astrid as he opened the hatch that led to the lower portion of the ship. A horrific smell flittered out as Ben reeled back from the stench of it. “ None of the crew survived apparently.” However hat was when the ship began rumbling and Ben heard he all too familiar sound of a drone awakening as a loud humming sound was coming from the lower deck. XLR8 body began crackling with electricity and lightning as he got into a runner’s stance.
Astrid looked at Hiccup and the others with worry and concern. As the sent of rot floated up they dragon riders attempted not to vomit.
Snotlout looked at Ben, “WHATS GOING ON NOW?” He asked in worry. Astrid pulled out her axe, the twins followed suit. Snotlout pulled out his axe as well.
