She smiled softly and exited the room. The door closed behind her and the lock was turned as for locking astrid back in.
Astrid was in a good mood till she heard the lock click and suddenly she felt upset at her being trapped, she did not like being confined. It made her stir crazy. She was a warrior, she wasn’t suited to be locked up. But they figured that’s what they wanted. She thought and paced in the room thinking of a plan to escape maybe? She didn’t know.
Down the hall, there were knocking on a door. the walls in the shouse werent exactly sound proof and you might be able to hear mostly anything that was said with open doors.
Jack groaned and told the girl to enter “ah! morning Em…”
The servant walked in and picked up a basket by the door where jack had thrown his wet and bloody clothes “You did a blood sacrifice last night?” she asked as the chief stood up and stratched “mmmh! i had to… The gods only give when they are given… hopefully we will get a good harvest out of the sacrefice…”
Astrid paced. She was frustrated. She could hear the knocking all of a sudden and paused. Leaning against the wall closest to the knocking to listen in. She was however only able to hear the girl Jack seemed to be quite quiet or tired. She didn’t now which at this point
the girl nodded “lets hope.. would you like to have a bath? or would you like breakfast first?”
Jack found some clothes in a pile and put them on “i’ll have some food. Have you given miss Astrid her breakfast?”
“yes, then we locked her back in as the general told us you requested” Jack froze and sighed “oh gods… unlock it will you. I’ll go join her. give me my food there okey?” The servant bowed and left the room.
Jack sighed and splashed some cold water in his face then exited his room and walked to astrids door, knocking on it.
Astrid had already moved to sit down and eat her food from a chest at the foot of the bed. She had finished the milk as she heard a knock on the door.
She set her food next to her and watched the door carefully. Instinctively she reached for her axe on her back. But it wasn’t there.
“Who is it?” She asked still a bit defensive. Couldn’t let her guard down. Who knows what would happen.
