Astrid had been patrolling on an island not far from berk. When suddenly she saw something….appear? It was almost dragon like. But something was off. She’d already. Landed and was watching the creature closely from away.
Snotlout looked at Valka and glared at the twins when he spotted them not too far away. Suddenly he realized one of the babies had gotten top of his helmet. “UHHHHH…. Ben?” he called for his attention. Not sure what to do about the little one.
“I’ll be okay I promise Hiccup. The baby is probably gonna be as stubborn as I am.” she said to him with a smile as he hugged her close to him. “Mmmm so what’s the plan today?” she asked him.
The baby tried to nip at Ben when he pulled him off of Snotlout’s helmet. “ Loki, no biting.” Ben gently chided to his firstborn son gently. “ Haydren stop!” Ben tried to grab his runt who was climbing up his back chasing after Loki. Valka chuckled helping to round up the little ones. Iona sitting ontop of her shoulder
Hiccup smiled softly at her. “ I was thinking we should check the defenses in the village and make sure the riders are up to snuff.”She smiles and nods “I think that’s a great idea. And maybe we should tell your mother about our news when we finish?” She asked. She held his hand as they walked into the village. Villagers here and there waving to them and giving “good mornings”.
Snotlout laughed at the claws of Haydren tickling his skin through his tunic.
Hiccup was making notes as they checked the weapons and the conditions of the fortress. Not knowing. When or if Vilgax will attack Berk had him on edge and he wanted to upgrade Berk’s defenses. Ben and Valka laughed a bit together seeing the baby dragons playing with Snotlout. The shapeshifter expression softened. Ben then looked over to the dragon master “ When they get older, I was hoping, maybe both you and the Chief can help train them? “ Valka understood Ben’s concern. “ Of course Ben,”
Snotlout was trying not to lose his cool as the babies kept playing on them. He walked carefully to Ben, “Why me?” He asked in a dramatic tone.
Astrid was keeping count of weapons and checking the stability of some of the equipment she’d come up to Hiccup and have him mark what needed to be looked at and repaired. They finished in a few hours and when they did so Astrid sighed out in relief. “Overall not too bad Chief…..” she teased and walked to him.
Ben helped get his kids under control as he laughed. “ They like you Snotlout.” The hero smiled as Haydren whined getting hungry as he pawed at Ben’s chest. The little runt had a deformed tail fin that worried Ben but he hoped that he and Hiccup could help with that.
Hiccup smiled as he chuckled at her teasing. “Ready to tell my mom Astrid?”Astrid nodded, though anxious she knew she’d be happy as they were about it. She held his hand in her own as they walked towards the Learning area where Valka usually spent her time. It seemed all the riders were there too. Which was a bit more nerve racking.
Hiccup cleared his throat to catch everyone’s attention. “Uh hey guys, me and Astrid have really important news we’d like to share. “ Hiccup’s voice stuttereda bit from the excitement and nervousness. Valka instantly focused on her son and soon to be daughter-in law arching an eyebrow. Little Iona stopped playing with Snotlout when she sensed the change of mood in the crowd. Her attention on Astrid as she cooed softl.
Snotlout looked towards the Chief and Astrid. He rolled his eyes jokingly. What are you pregnant?” He joked. Fishlegs smacked his arm. “Shut up Snotlout.” He said defensively.
Astrid didn’t usually get nervous with attention but suddenly she felt quite a bit of pressure but she looked at Hiccup then to Valka. “So actually…it looks like we might be having a Hadock the fourth……” she spoke up.
Snotlouts eyes widened. “I CALLED IT!” He exclaimed with a smile. Both for getting it right (by accident) and excited for them.
Valka was in shock but a happy kinda shock. “By the Gods I’m gonna be a grandmother!” She squeals in excitement pulling Hiccup into a hug. “ Well if you need help Astrid I have experience.” Ben playfully teased Astrid.
Astrid looked at him, “I think I’ll look to Valka. She’s used to human babies but thank you hahaha” she spoke with a small laugh.
Fishlegs squealed with excitement and rushed towards her. “Astrid this is amazing!!” He exclaimed.
Little Iona was bouncing around with excitement! She didn’t understand what was going on but with all the happy energy she thought it was time to play as the little dragoness bounces over to Astrid. Warbling softly up at the rider.
Astrid looked at the baby dragon and smiled. She knelt down. “Come on we can go play a bit if you’d like” she said to the little one and opened her arms to the dragon so Astrid could carry her.
Meanwhile Hookfang was currently flirting around with Ben, now we’ll known the Nightmare was the sire of Ben’s hatchlings. The dragon playfully rubbing his head all over Ben getting his scent all over him as if saying this human is mine! “ Hookfang cut it out!” Ben laughed as he was rather ticklish as the babies were playing near Uncle Snotlout.
Snotlout looked at them. His arms crossed in unamusement, but he simply huffed. He didn’t like them being so close. He thought and then turned his back and instead focused on the babies. Smiling at them.
Once Ben was done saying hello to Hookfang the hero was walking over to Snotlout when he heard shouting. Coming from the docks. Giving a concerned glance to the Viking he ran out but suddenly saw one of Vilgax drone’s, two of them, had flight based forms and insect like. They were attacking Berk as Hiccup rallied the riders.
Snotlout pulled the little ones off of him and set them down. He looked to Valka, “Can you watch them?” He asked before he whistled for Hookfang and mounted him. He took off.
Astrid had already was on the move. She took her axe and went towards the drone from the ground. Throwing her axe then ran and pulled the axe by its handle removing from the body of the drone but also tearing it up some.
