This could be because of Connie not knowing what Yellow diamond looks like and Steven knowing. But think about this: While Connie thinks of her mom, why doesn’t Steven think of Rose? Well that’s easy. It’s because Steven is Pink diamond. And in a way, pink diamonds mom is Yellow diamond.
