Alright so I did say I was going to make a big old post about the notebooks I plan to use outside of my grimoire for witchcraft! I hope you’re ready and be sure to buckle up ‘cause this post is gonna be long with a bunch of pictures and explanation.
Also the pictures for some reason just refused to format correctly so there
So let’s get to it.
1: A Witch’s Planner (Bujo)
> This one is all to keep me organized and track how much witchcraft I actually incorporate into my day-to-day life. Here, I can plan out rituals, Sabbats, Esbats, and when I want to do spells that last long. I can also track active spells in this book and just throw a bunch of garbage into this book too. It’s pretty much a place to store all my daily ramblings until I figure out what to do with them.
> This journal is a $10 Miquelrius leather notebook from Barnes and Noble. It’s a 600-page square grid so I can easily make some spreads and yes I have an unfinished Anubis drawing on the front. (Do not buy this from Amazon! It is grossly overpriced on Amazon and they sell it for more than the company does.) [The pages are of excellent quality considering the price point. Heavy inks may ghost.]

2: An Art Book
> Because I want to incorporate more art into my craft, the place to do it is in this sketchbook I have. Art has a wonderful place in witchcraft and I think practicing more in my drawing and other artistic capabilities would improve my craft overall.
> It’s a $3 sketchbook I bought at a Ross some time ago. I just had to have it since it seemed to have such good quality. (I was wrong, it definitely does not hold up to Crayola markers well at all.)
3: A Witch’s Spellbook
> Because I can’t afford the real-estate in my grimoire for hundreds or thousands of spells, that’s what this journal is going to be dedicated to!
> It is just another little notebook I picked up from (the same) Ross for I think $4 or $5. It’s got a cute little ribbon bookmark and college ruled paged. (The pages are of decent quality, actually. Heavy inks may ghost.)
4: An Amalgamation – Deities, Spirits, Entities, and Psychic Abilities
> So this one is just going to be a bunch of various and slightly differing yet still related topics. I will be tracking any conversations I have with any of my deities (mostly Anubis) as well as any advice they plan to give me. I will also track my encounters with spirits and entities to see if there’s any trend or if it was a one-off thing. And finally, I will track my progress in practicing my psychic abilities. This will probably take up the bulk of that journal.
> This journal was actually gifted to me so I don’t quite know the price of it. It was bought at a Military Exchange so it is likely not readily available to many people. (Page quality undetermined)
5: A Book of Crystals
> Because there is thousands upon thousands of crystals and rocks around the world, I need a place to formally learn about them and keep that information together. Not only will I list physical characteristics, I will also list magical correspondences and possible uses.
> This book was bought at Barnes and Noble for around $13 in the Religious section. I was under the impression it was actually a book and was mildly disappointed to find that it was a journal but now I’m okay with that purchase. There is a short magical introduction followed by a page layout of blank and lined coupling each other. I figure that would be quite helpful as I can have an image of the crystal on one page and its information facing it. (Page quality undetermined)
6: A Poetry Book
> Since I was always mediocre at writing poetry, I figured I’d better practice. Not only with writing poetry make me a more well-rounded commander of the English language, it will also aide in my craft, especially in spell creation. Many spells incorporate poems as chants, so if I improve my skills in poetry, so do my skills in witchcraft improve.
> This is a Moleskine journal, generally around $20. However, I got this one at a TJ Maxx for around $7 or $8. It is simply lined with a ribbon bookmark. (Moleskine is infamous for some high quality but thin pages. Beware of ghosting – no bleeding or feathering.)
7: An Herbarium
> We all want to study herbs forever, amirite? Well I wanted to keep my herbal study all nice and organized, so that’s what this book here is for. I will include images of the plant, gardening tips, magical correspondences, ways to use the plants medicinally, and any medical warnings necessary.
> This is an Exceed (Walmart Brand?) journal that I picked up shortly after back-to-school season ended. It was about $6 and it has a dot-grid layout. (Beware! These pages are extremely prone to bleeding, feathering, and ghosting! Don’t sacrifice quality for price if you’re worried about that!)
8: A Divination Journal
> Because I still consider myself a beginner in most forms of divination, it’s best to track my progress. This notebook will hold tarot, runes, pendulum, and many other forms of divination and how much things change as I go on in my practice.
> This journal was bought at a TJ Maxx a few years ago. (Price unknown.) [Page quality is decent. Heavy inks may ghost.]
9: A Witch Positivity Journal
> Here will be a bunch of witch affirmations to keep me confident in my craft. It will also serve to cheer me up whenever I’m down, really. Pretty much all this journal will be is an amalgamation of positive things!
> This is a Moleskine cahier notebook I bought in a set. I’m not sure how much the set costs at full price but I got a set of 6 for around $16 at TJ Maxx. (Page quality that of Moleskine, of course.) [Cover design by me, referencing Beetlejuice.]
10: Astronomy and Astrology
> Because I love learning about space and I incorporate space into my craft (particularly the zodiacs, planetary influences, and the moon) I need a whole notebook dedicated to it! Here I will research more about space and astrology as well as practice in the making and reading of natal charts.
11: Alchemy and Sigils
> I absolutely love the idea of alchemy. Not only was it the old chemistry but it was also a philosophy that I agree with on many points. In this journal I will research and study alchemy and how it pertains to my craft. I will also practice in the making of alchemical circles. Because of the relation with those circles and sigils, I will include the making of sigils, several different sigils, and ways to use them in this notebook as well.
> Both of these journals were bought at Walmart for $0.89 and are college ruled composition notebooks. I designed and painted the covers for both. (Page quality is low. Ghosting with medium-heavy inks, possible bleeding and feathering with heavy inks. But again, these were less than a dollar.)
12: Fairytales of (my last name)
> I wanted to start writing fairytales that I could incorporate into my craft or just to write other things than my WIP. This will be filled with the stories I want to see more of (and if I don’t write them, who will?)
> Again this was an $0.89 composition notebook from Walmart. Cover designed and painted by me, page quality the same.
13: Daily Feelings
> To improve my craft, I believe I need to control my emotions better. To control my emotions better, I actually need to understand them. So that’s what this journal is for! Writing down my emotions when they’re high and low so I can reflect upon them and get a better understanding on managing my emotions.
> This is another Moleskine journal bought at $7 from TJ Maxx, though you could buy them from the Moleskine website! (Page quality the same as prior Moleskine notebooks listed.)
Now I don’t have a specific use for these but this is just a taste of other notebooks I have. Trust me, i have a LOT of Moleskine notebooks. (I can count 11 off the top of my head???) But there is far more variety. What so you guys think I could use these for?
Note: my research notebooks were not listed nor pictured. If you guys would like to see those, let me know. Just know they don’t adhere to the aesthetic I’ve got going on.
So that’s all I’ve got so far! I hope you guys might find some of these inspiring and hopefully I don’t incite wallet retaliation by *encouraging* you guys to go out and buy more notebooks 😅
