starwayscribbles:

For all the people that don’t have hopes for HTTYD3

Okay now that I calmed down from my breakdown—

I know the movie isn’t looking great from the poster and synopsis, but don’t lose hope. I’m pretty sure it will be better than it looks. That’s always the case for How to Train Your Dragon: the final product always manages to surprise us (well, most of the time). I think judging a movie just from the poster and synopsis is a little harsh.

But enough chit chat. Let’s get to what I consider the definitive proof that the movie will be good or at least better than it looks: I actually had the honor to meet Cressida Cowell recently and she told me herself this was by far her favorite movie. I’m choosing to trust her opinion and wait for the movie to come out before deciding if I hate it or I love it. Because let’s be honest, if the author of the books approves of it, it can’t be that bad.

I don’t like the (kind of) forced romance either, and if Toothless leaves for his girlfriend I’m going to be livid. I’m going to be really angry if they neglect important aspects of the previous movies like the friendship between Hiccup and Toothless (the main focus of these movies, come on) in favor of the romance, but I don’t believe they will. I’m not saying it’s going to be perfect, although I would like it to, or that they are going to balance everything perfectly, I’m just saying that DreamWorks knows their shit.

(Just look at Voltron and Trollhunters)

Anyway, my opinion is probably biased because the How to Train Your Dragon franchise has been such a big part of my life (I’m really not ready for it to end), but it’s just that: an opinion. Let’s hope the trailer plays in my favor.

I’m scared too, but I’m choosing to believe.
