Zeus doesn’t gather much pleasure from his mistresses, more times than ever before he looks to his wife for comfort, though he still finds new mistresses out if habit. Humans have long forgotten who he really is, the no longer fear him, they no longer respect him. He doesn’t care for them either, and doesn’t understand why his family keeps trying to make this world turn. He does what he so often did back in the glory days, traveling in disguise as a weary traveler, trying to find a place to stay, but unlike the old days, people always turn him away. They’re either scared of letting a stranger in, want money for his stay, or do not feel sympathy for a lonely traveler. But he can’t even muster up the want to punish them these days. What’s the point? What gives him some hope is the whispered prayers of his remaining followers. Their prayers for strength, for a caring ear, for a father. For him. It gives him hope. Maybe someday, humanity as a whole will find the old gods again.
