This scene straight out of the Spider-Verse trailer reminded me so much of this Homecoming moment between Ned and Peter.

Yes its quite clear that Ned was inspired by Ganke Lee, the friend of Miles Morales. My take on it is that since he was hinted at by Aaron Davis (The Prowler) in Homecoming, that he’ll show up down the line. With Ned either being related to Ganke, or that the name will be a nickname by the time he’ll make Miles’ acquaintance.
