James turns to Elsa and nods in response before focusing on the road. “New York is a very busy city. Millions of people live here and all from different parts of the world. All of different religion and speak different languages. A good place to live and where people feel if they make it here they can make it anywhere.”

“Sounds a little silly to me, I think. Coming to a busy city to realize hour dreams…..however the mass amount of culture is definitely something new and something beautiful to see.” She spoke.

Elsa fidgeted a bit as they kept driving creating snowflakes in her open hand. And melting it and repeating it. Watching in almost a daze. Her focus came back when her stomach growled and she smiled awkwardly.

James nods in response. “It sounds silly, but then again before our time all those years ago it’s what a lot of people believed in. I’d like to think my dad believed in it too. But, it is amazing to see so many cultures living in the city. Showing that it doesn’t matter where you are from you are accepted here.”

James heard her stomach growling and smiles. “Don’t worry. We’re here.”

James drives them up to the restaurant where he gives his key to the valet and goes over to open the door for Elsa. “Here were are.”

Elsa steps out her brunette braid tossed over her shoulder and her eyes looked up at James. Taking her hand into his as she stood up. She breathes out, “it looks like a nice place. I’m excited to try it out” she said to him. Her arm wraps around his subconsciously as they walk to the doors. A man opens the door as he leaves and they both walk in

James didn’t mind her arm around his since she didn’t seem to have a problem doing it in the first place. So, why pull his arm away and be rude about it?

They go inside where they are taken to their seat. It was at a table near where they could see the waiters working. It was an open kitchen where they can see the chefs working on the food and a pizza oven that appeared to be made of bricks.

They are given their menu and James looks over his while looking at Elsa. “So, what would you like to eat?”

Elsa looks over the menu and finds a pizza that looks appetizing. She points to it on the menu and shows James, “this one looks interesting I think…..it’s got cheese in its crust…” she spoke and then looked up at him with a smile.

James looks at it and smiles. “That’s a thin crust pizza. Not bad and its delicious,” the waiter came over and James placed their order getting the same as Elsa before the waiter left their drinks for them before putting in their order. “Elsa, while we wait mind if I ask you something? We talked a bit about myself before, but i was wondering what was it like growing up at your home?”

Elsa nodded as she turned her attention from the waiter to James, “sure what are you curious about?” She asked him.

Listening to his question she gave a side smile, “well when I was much younger we had an amazing childhood and Anna and I were so close. And then there was an accident and our whole dynamic changed. Me and my father both were equally fearful of the power I had. But my mother always tried to help but I worried so much that I hid myself away for over 10 years behind doors and gloves and anxiety and fear” she sighed briefly before continuing, “I locked myself up and Anna suffered in the process. She was alone she and I both weren’t really allowed out of the castle anymore and it’s a guilt that still looms over my head” she explained

James felt bad for Elsa. He didn’t understand what it was like to have powers like hers. He knew though that Kymera feared of losing control over hers since she could control the weather. She wanted to use them to help people, but punish those who tried hurting her people.

Her father thought taught her that the powers she has are a gift from her mother. That she should never abuse them and should use them to help people. Never to punish someone out of hate and violence. Still, Elsa didn’t seem to have that comfort.

“I’m sure Anna doesn’t hold any ill will towards you for locking yourself up. Now that she understands I assume she has been very supportive of you. Trying to get you out in the open and not close your feelings off. And help you not be afraid to use your powers, right?”

Elsa looked up her “green eyes” a bit glossed over. She blinks away the extra moisture and gives a nod, “Yes. And I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better sister. She’s forgiven me and supported me so much. Even after…..well….me almost….well I did turn her to solid ice…” she spoke to him. “It’s a dangerous thing. A fine line to learn, to make something so beautiful….”

As she trailed off her finger moved in a circular motion and small sparkle and a timid touch of frost danced across the table and a elegantly detailed snowflake formed. Standing on the table all on its own on James’ clean plate. It didn’t melt. Just shimmered in front of James. “….or I can turn ugly and destructive” and the snowflake suddenly fell against the plate in silence and it seemed to spread over the plate turning it to ice and cracking into pieces. Then melted away in an instant. “Sorry…. I didn’t mean to make you lose your plate.” She said and gave an awkward “ha ha”

James watched her use her magic to make the snowflake and was surprised by how well she did this. He wasn’t too surprised since he has seen what she can do in action. Even in combat, but this was something he didn’t mind. Until it shattered his plate and caught the attention of some of the other customers.

“N-no no its okay. I should have seen that coming,” he said as the waiter came over and he lied to him that he broke the plate and will pay for it. The waiter brought him a new plate and the people went back to their food.

“Honestly, I can’t see you doing anything ugly or destructive. You are amazing and graceful when you use your powers. Yes, you did have trouble using them before, but you seem to have come a long way. And your people seem to enjoy using your powers from what they told me.”

He remembers the people he spoke to tell him good things about Elsa and how the kids love it when she uses her powers to make it snow or make an ice ring for them to skate on.

“You have a great gift Elsa and one I am glad to be able to see just like I am glad to have been able to meet someone as amazing as you.”

Elsa looked stunned by his words. Her cheeks turned red as she blushed deeply. “W-well I wouldn’t say that…..but…” she gave a small smile, “thank you James. I will say I’ve never really met someone who’s so…..sweet and well mannered and just….so sincere like you are” she said to him in a sweeter tone.

James didn’t mind getting complimented since…well now that he thinks about it he doesn’t get complimented at all by his friends. At least not the way Elsa said it. It made him smile and is glad to know what Elsa thinks of him, which made this a nice moment.

“Thank you, Elsa,” he said as the food finally arrived.

James takes a bite of his food while he waits to see how Elsa likes her meal.

Elsa smiles but when he spoke her name out loud she thought for a moment, “Maybe we shouldn’t call me by my first name? Not many, I would assume, walk around with a Swedish name like “Elsa”” she spoke up “maybe a nickname? Or something different”.

But the pizza was put in front of them and she smiled at the scent of it. She took a piece onto her plate then dove right into eating it. Forgetting her train of thought she hummed in bliss at the taste of the pizza, “this is amazing!” She spoke between bites.

James forgot about that and knew he needed to come up with another name for her. Hmm not many names he can think of except maybe…El? Would that be a good nickname? Or how about Elizabeth?

He didn’t have much time to think of more when he heard Elsa enjoying the pizza. He was glad to hear that as he continued eating more of his meal.

Elsa thought hard as she ate her pizza, “Any ideas? It doesn’t have to long. Something simple.” She said before she grabbed a second piece of pizza.

She’d never considered a nickname before. “To my knowledge the one with the nickname isn’t the one who picks it right?” She asks him.

James nods in response. “Its picked out by the people who come up with it. In my case my friends called me Cap Jr. when I started working with them. Until time passed and they call me Cap instead.”

He figured though he can give Elsa a much better name to use. Even if its just an alias. “How about…Elizabeth? Does that sound good? And as a nickname how about El?”

Elsa smiles at his story. Her smile is bright and warm. She laughs a little at his suggestion but nods in agreement. “I like El….it works either way” she spoke to him before biting into her food seemingly almost happy over the whole situation. It was fun. She enjoyed that he would call her by a nickname. El…..sounded nice. She’s really liked it

Once they finished with the pizza James had ordered them some desert. A melted chocolate brownie with ice cream on it. James enjoyed taking a bite of his brownie, which has the chocolate on it mixed in with the ice cream. Very good, but he hopes Elsa will like it too.

Well, she is a fan of chocolate so it should be fine.

((Love this one from the restaurant we have here called BJs…yes that’s the name))

The brunette dug in happily to the brownie she also had to remind herself to stay in control of her excitement as she ate it. As to not eat it all herself.

Elsa smiles at James, “it’s really good….I’m in love” she teases

Ruby Bridges was the first black child to desegregate the all-white William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis in 1960.

This movie made me cry, I was so heart broken by how Ruby Bridges was treated! She was only 6, but was so strong. She is a very brave girl and she did not care what the white folks called her.

People are simply disgusting to minimize people by skin color!

Ruby you might not think you’re a hero… But to other people you are! You are A HERO and you are A PERSON WHO MADE AMERICA CHANGE!

this is white culture, this is their history, this is their legacy…being enraged at a damn baby just because she’s black.

she’s still alive by the way

Ruby Bridges in 2010

“As Bridges describes it, “Driving up I could see the crowd, but living in New Orleans, I actually thought it was Mardi Gras. There was a large crowd of people outside of the school. They were throwing things and shouting, and that sort of goes on in New Orleans at Mardi Gras.“ Former United States Deputy Marshal Charles Burks later recalled, “She showed a lot of courage. She never cried. She didn’t whimper. She just marched along like a little soldier, and we’re all very very proud of her.“

U.S. Marshals escorted Bridges to and from school

As soon as Bridges entered the school, white parents pulled their own children out; all the teachers refused to teach while a black child was enrolled. Only one person agreed to teach Ruby and that was Barbara Henry, from Boston, Massachusetts, and for over a year Henry taught her alone, “as if she were teaching a whole class.”

Every morning, as Bridges walked to school, one woman would threaten to poison her; because of this, the U.S. Marshals dispatched by President Eisenhower, who were overseeing her safety, allowed Ruby to eat only the food that she brought from home.

Another woman at the school put a black baby doll in a wooden coffin and protested with it outside the school, a sight that Bridges Hall has said “scared me more than the nasty things people screamed at us.” At her mother’s suggestion, Bridges began to pray on the way to school, which she found provided protection from the comments yelled at her on the daily walks.”

THIS SHIT WAS ONLY 58 YEARS AGO. PEOPLE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS RACIST TERRORISM AND ACTS LIKE IT ARE STILL ALIVE, AND THEIR KIDS ARE IN THEIR 40′S AND 50′S.

DON’T LET RACISM APOLOGISTS GET AWAY WITH “WHY ARE YOU LIVING IN THE PAST,” BULLSHIT ARGUMENTS. WE ARE LITERALLY STILL DEALING WITH THE FAMILIES THAT FORMED HATE MOBS OVER BLACK CHILDREN ATTENDING SCHOOL WITH WHITE KIDS.

This was her then:

This is literally how she looks in 2017.

She’s literally not even  old.
