“You missed a few,” said Luna who while impressed with what she did a few arrows appeared and hit the queen from behind. “Never assume the fighting is over until you are absolutely sure the bad guys are all down. Since one might be hiding somewhere, especially if they deal with royalty people.”
James sighed figuring Luna had set up a few more traps that he wasn’t aware of. “Don’t worry the paint is easy to wipe away, but Luna is not completely wrong about that. Good thing though these were arrows. If they used a rifle then a bullet will be hard to see or block unless you increase the strength of your ice defense.”
Elsa sighed but understood Luna’s position. “But who’s Bens mother? There’s a lot of names and in quite confused” she spoke and looked at the two of them.
“But I suppose that could workout cause that means I could leave you to protect arendelle….. if you’d be willing to do it?” She asked the Latina.
“Ben is Spider-Man and his mom is Gwen Stacy the chief of police. She can help us out by beefing up security and also helping us gather information while we’re there,” James explained.
Luna gives Elsa a salute. “You can count on me, reina de hielo y nieve (queen of ice and snow). I’ll make sure your kingdom stays safe and no harm will come to it while I’m around.”
She hugs Luna in gratitude. “Thank you Luna!” She spoke softly into her ear. She pulled away a moment later and looked at James. “Then I guess we will have to get to packing in the next few days. The event is 6 days away. And I want to keep my arrival under wraps as long as possible. If we drag attention to me right away we will never be free of the press.” She explained.
“Then I’ll give Abby a call and see if she can contact Ms. Stacy,” said James as he took out his phone. “If we plan to keep this under wrap you’ll need to let your sister know. Since we did say she is going to New York too.”
“Maybe come up with a disguise so you guys can go around the city,” Luna suggested. “Six days of doing nothing while you wait for the party? Sounds rather boring.”
“Well we can’t leave yet. Tomorrow or the next day we will leave. So I can explain everything to Anna. Plus I have some work to finish here. Plus allows a bit more training.” She spoke.
She looked at Luna, “so four days in New York and nothing to do? I can’t wait!” She laughed a bit. “And I’ve got a disguise for myself. Anna said she had plans and didn’t want to attend. So I still have an open invitation…we will save it I suppose.” She spoke.
“Or…” Luna has an idea of who they can invite. “We can call for Jason or one of his friends to help us out.”
James sighed as he is unsure if they are available either to help them from where they are at. “I can try. We’ll save it for one of his friends then if all goes well.”
“I don’t know.. I mean I know you trust them. But it seems people are busy. It would be good to have back up. But we may have to go in with no one. But we have two days to find that back up while I finish things up.” She spoke.
“Don’t worry. I’m sure they would be willing to help. But if not I think with Ms. Stacy she can help us out,” said James who knew she would be a good backup to have. “She did train her son and can help us out.”
“That lady is pretty scary when bad guys are on the loose and she is on cop mode,” said Luna as she pulls out a container. “Anyways, i’ll go get my things set up. In the meantime I’ll leave you two love birds together so James can talk about how warm your hands feel.”
James begin blushing a little. “Y-you heard that?!
Luna began giggling. “Yes I did and you are bad at hitting on women!” she said as she took off running.
Elsa blushes once again as Luna speaks up and Elsa looks at James, “She’s crazy…..you weren’t hitting on me. I mean why would you?” She asked him her heart felt like it was beating suddenly faster. But she didn’t mention that. The queen looked at him still.
“I’m not someone you would want to be with.” She stated and she internally winced feeling she could’ve worked her statement better. “I-I uh…..I’m going to change I have some things to clean up from dealing with those….assassins.” She spoke with an awkward smile and begun to back away. “But uh….later we can talk more at dinner!” She added
James was about to reply to her first response, but then she continued on and then tries again only for her to back away. Was he hitting on her? If he is he was very bad at it. His mom taught him many things, but hitting on a woman…oh that was one thing he never learned.
Also, if he was hitting on her would it be wrong? But what she said got her confused. Why wouldnt he…or rather why wouldn’t anyone want to be with her? She is so beautiful, amazing, and caring. He also enjoyed spending time with her and helping her…oh shit this is not good.
Before he can reply to Elsa he heard his phone ringing and checks to see it is Abigail. “I um have to take this but I will see you for dinner,” he said as he too awkwardly backed away before leaving the room.
Elsa saw worry on his face before she turned around she heard him start talking to someone on the phone as she too left the room to shower and change into more appropriate attire.
Why did her heart still race? She asked herself she’d never felt this before and it was quite strange.
“You like him don’t you?” Luna asked as she appeared behind the queen, while drinking her container. “Its okay to admit you like him. Nothing wrong with is, especially how he feels the same way. At least, he’s getting there. He’s never been very good at the whole liking someone and trying to ask them out since he was never taught how to do that.”
Elsa didn’t jump she looked at Luna their eyes met. “I don’t like him. That’s not me. It can’t work anyways. I’m running my own kingdom… well country…. when would there even be time?” She asked. “On top of that….I’m not someone anyone should date” She added and sighed before she brushed her hands through the top of her hair and she gave a small hum. And looked at Luna. “Plus there’s no way he’d like me after only days of knowing each other.
Luna didn’t look at her in the eyes either and just focused on her drink while smiling. “So, basically you are saying you will be so focus on work that you don’t have time para amor? I think your heart beating very fast is saying something different. Also, you do realize the guy we are talking about is the son of Captain America right? He shouldn’t date anyone either, especially what would happen if his kids end up becoming super soldiers like him.”
Luna then turns to Elsa and approached her. “That’s why you two should go out on a date. Maybe, spend time together before you all go to New York. Loosen up before the trip and see if anything is there. If there is great.”
She then took a sip of her drink before she continues. “If not then well it was still fun to spend time with a guy who isn’t afraid of your powers or afraid to end up freezing. Kind of like his dad,” said Luna with a small chuckle.
“I didn’t say I’d be that busy…..and he deserves a date or a girlfriend. He’s sweet and he’s charming. And he doesn’t try to run someone else’s life…..” she begun to defend him and she looked away suddenly realizing how invested she truly was.
“You don’t think he’s afraid of me?” She asked him and looked down at her own hands. “And did you just make a joke?” She gave a small laugh. She breathed out, “you know I’ve never really been to New York before. This will be a first….” she mentioned. “Aside from you trying to hook me up with your colleague…..do you really think you can handle watching over arendelle? I’m sure Anna will be happy to help you out too.” She commented
Luna chuckled softly when she saw her now talking nice things about him. It made her smile knowing how despite what she said before she clearly has a thing for him. “James? Afraid? Nah. Like I said the guy was never taught how to try asking someone out since he was trained more to fight and defend himself.”
Luna puts her container down and sighed. “You know, New York has a lot of nice places you two could go to. I bet it can be a lot of fun and you should try the pizza there too. Its delicious.”
She then heard what she said about looking out for Arendelle. “I’ll be fine. Kymera showed me the ropes one time. Your sister should go with you guys though so she won’t suspect something is up. I’ll make sure nothing bad happens.”
((An hour later: the whole kingdom is on fire lol kidding))
Elsa thought about it deeply for a moment and she sighed, “you’re probably right at least I can take Anna and her boyfriend. He keeps he busy, so taking them to New York they’ll have fun and be plenty distracted.
She looked at Luna, “thank you for doing this. Not just watching arendelle but trying to help stop this madness” she said to her. She gave a hug to Luna before she hurried off to go change and start packing. Though they wouldn’t leave for another day she wanted to pack now.
