Ivan was making dinner for himself when he heard noise coming from the fire escape outside his window. He opens the window and his eyes go wide when he sees a girl climbing towards him. He was frozen in shock.
Jinx smiles and nods, “thank you Eva. The world is definitely much more strange and hard to grasp then what I’ve read through books” she said to her. “It almost doesn’t feel real” She added.
Evan laughs and nods. “I felt dhe same way when Ivan and I cams to America.” She says. “We had no idea how anything worked until Ivan got a job.”

That’s when the food comes. Ivan pulls off a peice and passes it to Jinx before getting his own.
She realized she was staring almost too long but thankfully the pizza had arrived to distract her. She then looks at the pizza and then to Ivan, “I could’ve gotten it ya know?” She pointed out to him with a hint of a smile on one corner of her lips.
He blushes slightly. “It was hot. I didn’t want you to drop you pizza.” He says.
She rolls her eyes playfully and out of sass. “I wasn’t going to drop it. I know how to eat! I also know how to pick up hot foods Ivan” she poked fun at him before eating her food.
He blushes harder. “You’re right. I’m sorry.” He looks down and eats his food.
Jinx looked at him. “Is everything okay? Your cheeks are red….are you hot?” She asked him curiously.
He shakes his head. “No, no. I’m alright. Please, don’t worry about me.” He smiles.
Jinx leaned over to Eva, “Is he really okay?” She asked in a quiet whisper to her.
She giggles. “He’s just embarrassed because he likes you and wants to take care of you.” She says, making Ivan groan. “I am right here, you know.”
Jinx smiles a bit and nodded no, “I doubt that” she whispered back. She looked up at Ovan as he spoke and she laughed a bit, “I’m sorry……” she said but still had a hint of a smile.
Ivan rolls his eyes. “You two. Conspiring against me.” He jokes, taking a big bite out of his pizza.
She laughs a bit at watching his act of frustration and upset towards them. “Conspiring against you! How dare you accuse us of such wrong doings!” She responded dramatically but with a smirking grin on her lips.
He sighs. “I feel like dat is a lie. And I demand an apology.” He pretends to huff.
Jinx throws a topping from the pizza at him and hits him dead center, between his eyes and she bursts out laughing
Ivan sighs as his mother laughs. “Dat was very uncalled for.” He says, taking off the topping. “I’m going to the bathroom.” He says, getting up and leaving the table.
Jinx laughs a bit at his comment before her expression dropped as he left the table. She felt worry faint the back of her thoughts. Why? She thought. Then looked to Eva, “How’s your food?” She asked her trying to keep conversation going.
She smiles. “Very good. I love coming here.” She says happily. “Ivan takes me here when he gets his money.”
“Well I think it’s great…..” she smiles softly. “So are you sure it’s okay for me to stay?” She asked in a more serious tone. “I’m not even really used to the world…..it’s been hard. And I’m still not free and clear quite yet” she spoke to Eva a bit quieter.
She nods. “Do not worry, my dear. You may stay and live with us. I am old now, Ivan could use some younger company.” She teases.
“Well thank you for letting me stay. I’m happy.” She said in a calm tone. She looked at her food for a moment before she took another bite.
Ivan returns and sits in his seat again. “Glad to see you two getting along.” He says with a yawn.
“Are you tired?” She asked him. She’d almost finished her good out of sheer hunger. She looked at him he had been doing so much for her and just in general as well.
He shakes his head. “No, no. I’m fine.” He says. “Liar.” Evanka says softly. “You’ve been working so much, when was dhe last time you slept?” She scolds him.
“Last night…..he and I slept in his bed.” Jinx stated bluntly not thinking about how that’d look.
Jack chuckled slightly “Sorry, you just had me so worried.. I guess it got me.. excited” Jack had a slight blush on his face as he pulled on his shirt again.
She left his shoes off and walked over giving her a soft kiss “Work hard, I’ll be in the great hall, and I’ll see you at dinner right?” He asked against her lips. his hand going down her arm.
Astrid looked up at Jack, “cmon let’s go” she said and waved for him to join her as she swung herself up and onto the saddle of her dragon.
Jack joined her and stopped by stormfly “Now do you want me to watch or ride with you?” he said a bit calmer than the other times, but still a bit scared.
Astrid help her hand out to him. “Cmon you’re coming with me” she smiles. “Just hold on tight and don’t close your eyes.” She spoke calmly.
