Ivan was making dinner for himself when he heard noise coming from the fire escape outside his window. He opens the window and his eyes go wide when he sees a girl climbing towards him. He was frozen in shock.
Jinx blushed deep red and she looked back at Ivan in hopes for back up. “I think II’m okay with calling you Eva…” she joked with the woman and she looked down at the ground briefly, “I’m afraid I only just met Ivan a few days ago actually.” she brought up to Ivanka.
Eva lifts a brow. “Oh?” She pauses and leans forward. “Did he save you?” She asks in a quiet voice.
Her voice dropped into a beautiful whisper against the woman’s ear, “Yes” the word was full of warmth and sweetness. “I wouldn’t be here had he not been there” she added in sincerity. She pulled back and her bright platinum eyes looked over Eva’s face.
Eva nods. “Understandable. My son can’t help but help.” She shrugs. “I don’t know where he gets it from.” Ivan chuckles. “I like helping.” He looks at Jinx. “I’m going to become a police officer soon.”
Jinx stood back up and next to Ivan looking up at him. “I think you’ll make a great Officer” she spoke with a small smile.
“It’s quite nice to know others. To not be alone now” she spoke to them both.
Eva takes her hand. “Worry not. You’re practically part of our family now. You may spend as long as you want in our home.”
Jinx blushes making her soft olive toned skin even darker on her cheeks and she gives a small smile. “Thank you Eva” she spoke softly. Then looked to Ivan, “I guess she likes me” she joked.
Ivan nods. “Da.” He says before turning to his mother. “I’ll have dhe doctor come in so you can be discharged. Come on Jinx.” He motions for her to follow him.
Jinx nods and bows her head to Eva before following Ivan out. When they moved into the hall she breathed out “your mother seems very lovely” she mentioned.
He nods. “Yes, but I know she can be a little over dhe top.” He says with a little laugh.
Jinx laughs too. And looked at him, “Would I be good to date?” She asked curiously. Talking to Eva had brought the thought into her mind.
Ivan blushes. “Yes. I think so.” He says softly. “I think you’d make a wonderful date.”
“You think so?” She asked. Trying to get reassurance
He nods. “Of course.” He smiles.
“Well then I’m glad then, thank you.” She spoke with a small smile. She griddled with the hem of her sweater sleeves as they waited for Eva to be finished up.
Ivan sends a doctor to his mother’s room and then goes to sign her out.
Jinx waits quietly as people seem to bustle about the hall gliding in or out of rooms. Watching them all quite curious.
“Dhere. Now we wait her for dhem to bring my mother out.” He smiles, turning to Jinx.
She nods and gives a smile in return to Ivan’s. “And it’s sure to be okay with her we stay in the same bed? I know that’s what couples do in most circumstances. I can move to the couch” she pointed out.
He chuckles. “I’m pretty sure she’d endorse the idea of us being together.” He says his mother is slowly wheeled out to them.
“Yo I think so? Why? And not just because I’m a female….” she cut off her statement as Eva was brought out to them.
“I’m ready to go home.” She says with a smile as Ivan takes the wheelchair from the doctor. “Let’s eat out tonight. Like pizza.” She says happily. “What do you think, Jinx?”
“Well I mean I’m down for anything really…..I’ve never had pizza” she stayed with a small smile and followed next to Eva allowing Ivan to push her and she not be in the way as they made their way to the van.
Eva smiles. “Pizza it is!” She cheers. Ivan chuckles. “We’ll go to dhe one close to home dhen.” He smiles.
Jinx can’t help but laugh a bit at them both and their excitement. “Well I’m excited to try pizza!” She spoke and subconsciously she moved her hand and rested it on Ivan’s as he pushed the cart to keep herself close and attached to the two people.

Hello lovelies! There are only FIVE DAYS left in September!! You know what that means! It’s time for my favorite month out of the year and my absolute favorite holiday! This year I want to do something a bit different! 30 different rituals and recipes for the 30 days of October, all centered around Samhain! (Side note: I still love you if you say Halloween. Halloween is more the secular holiday but it’s the same time of year and I know that I grew up with the day being called Halloween. Live your best life. Throw a crystal at whoever disagrees.)
With that being said, I want to start this off with some quick facts to set the mood!
· 🎃
Samhain is a Gaelic word meaning summer’s end.
It is pronounced sow-in in Ireland, sow-een in Wales, and sav-en in Scotland.
Pronunciation is going to be different everywhere, especially since it is now celebrated world wide, so keep that in mind!
· 🎃
There are traditional foods associated with this
such as soul cakes, soups and stews, and plenty of veggies because this is
around the time of the end of harvest! (Pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING)
· 🎃
This is so much history in different cultures
for this time of year. Day of the Dead is one of the biggest that comes to
mind, so please be respectful. Even if you don’t celebrate the holiday or chose
to celebrate in a different way, respect the lifestyles and traditions of
others. 😊
🎃 Do keep in mind that while I said I would still love you if you said Halloween, Samhain is traditionally much more of a serious event in different practices. It is known as a Pagan holiday for a reason.
🎃 In the northern hemisphere, many Pagans celebrate Samhain from sundown on October 31 through November 1. Others hold Samhain celebrations on the nearest weekend or on the Full or New Moon closest to this time. Some Pagans observe Samhain a bit later, or near November 6, to coincide more closely with the astronomical midpoint between Fall Equinox and Winter Solstice. Most Pagans in the southern hemisphere time their Samhain observances to coincide with the middle of their Autumn in late April and early May, rather than at the traditional European time of the holiday.
Final note: My posts over the next month are not going to be telling you how to practice or celebrate. They are merely ideas that I like or find interesting. How you chose to celebrate is completely up to you. After all, your path is your own and no one else can shape it for you. Stay lovely.
