Ivan was making dinner for himself when he heard noise coming from the fire escape outside his window. He opens the window and his eyes go wide when he sees a girl climbing towards him. He was frozen in shock.
Jinx blushed deep red and she looked back at Ivan in hopes for back up. “I think II’m okay with calling you Eva…” she joked with the woman and she looked down at the ground briefly, “I’m afraid I only just met Ivan a few days ago actually.” she brought up to Ivanka.
Eva lifts a brow. “Oh?” She pauses and leans forward. “Did he save you?” She asks in a quiet voice.
Her voice dropped into a beautiful whisper against the woman’s ear, “Yes” the word was full of warmth and sweetness. “I wouldn’t be here had he not been there” she added in sincerity. She pulled back and her bright platinum eyes looked over Eva’s face.
Eva nods. “Understandable. My son can’t help but help.” She shrugs. “I don’t know where he gets it from.” Ivan chuckles. “I like helping.” He looks at Jinx. “I’m going to become a police officer soon.”
Jinx stood back up and next to Ivan looking up at him. “I think you’ll make a great Officer” she spoke with a small smile.
“It’s quite nice to know others. To not be alone now” she spoke to them both.
Eva takes her hand. “Worry not. You’re practically part of our family now. You may spend as long as you want in our home.”
Jinx blushes making her soft olive toned skin even darker on her cheeks and she gives a small smile. “Thank you Eva” she spoke softly. Then looked to Ivan, “I guess she likes me” she joked.
Ivan nods. “Da.” He says before turning to his mother. “I’ll have dhe doctor come in so you can be discharged. Come on Jinx.” He motions for her to follow him.
Jinx nods and bows her head to Eva before following Ivan out. When they moved into the hall she breathed out “your mother seems very lovely” she mentioned.
He nods. “Yes, but I know she can be a little over dhe top.” He says with a little laugh.
Jinx laughs too. And looked at him, “Would I be good to date?” She asked curiously. Talking to Eva had brought the thought into her mind.
Ivan blushes. “Yes. I think so.” He says softly. “I think you’d make a wonderful date.”
“You think so?” She asked. Trying to get reassurance
He nods. “Of course.” He smiles.
“Well then I’m glad then, thank you.” She spoke with a small smile. She griddled with the hem of her sweater sleeves as they waited for Eva to be finished up.
Ivan sends a doctor to his mother’s room and then goes to sign her out.
Jinx waits quietly as people seem to bustle about the hall gliding in or out of rooms. Watching them all quite curious.
“Dhere. Now we wait her for dhem to bring my mother out.” He smiles, turning to Jinx.
She nods and gives a smile in return to Ivan’s. “And it’s sure to be okay with her we stay in the same bed? I know that’s what couples do in most circumstances. I can move to the couch” she pointed out.

Snotlout noticed Ben’s change in demeanor as they flew over the ship. He immediately made the decision to fly down to it. When he lands with Hookfang he could hear the cries and went wide eyed and slid off his dragon to look for the source of the sound. “BEN! cmon!” he yelled at him.
Astrid smiled, “I suppose we shall see won’t we?” She asked him and breathed out. “I really can’t wait to fly again.” she spoke and looked down at the baby bump then up at Hiccup, “I would like to go for a walk hiccup.” she mumbled and kissed him softly.
Landing next toHookfang Ben turned human as he began looking through the ship for the baby. There was definitely evidence that thieves had ransacked the ship stealing what they could before killing the crew on board. Ben paused before a door where the crying was the loudest. Slowly pushing it open Ben’s eyes were drawn to a small basket as he saw the infant and walked over. As soon as the baby saw Ben walk over she calmed down.
“ Of course Astrid,” Hiccup smiled after their kiss as he gently took Astrid’s hand into his own.
Snotlout stood behind him as Ben walked towards the infant. He stalked behind him curiously and seemed to look in awe and sadness at the sight of the infant. “Let me take it….we need to get back to Berk” he spoke and neared the baby. He went to reach for it but it seemed to get upset at his presence “uh….nevermind….. you and it can just ride with me in Hookfang.” He said to him simply.
Astrid smiles knowing she shouldn’t be walking around but appreciated that he’d walk with her so she could not be so stir crazy. And squeezed his hand as they walked out.
Ben picked up the baby as it seemed to calmn down when Ben held her. She yawned a bit as Ben held he basket close getting on Hookfang after his bethrothed. Ben couldn’t help but smile down as the infant yawned.
The village had made a lot of improvements with the help of the Plumers. Their fortifications were sturdy than before and now could withstand alien attacks and dragon fire.
Astrid was walking with Hiccup around the village. Many people seemed to stop them and say hello or come to rub or see the baby bump. It was nice being out. She thought before she saw Hookfang and the two return. “Hiccup…..are they holding something?” She asked and started to walk towards them.
Snotlout remained silent the baby didn’t seem to like him. As they arrived on Berk he took the basket from Ben as he’d slid off first. And let Ben down.
“ Hey Astrid!” Ben called out to the rider as he saw the baby was fussing around in his bethrothed arms. The alien warrior saw how quiet his mate was as he sighed.” She doesn’t know you yet but I’m sure she’ll warm up to ya.” Ben reassured Snotlout. As the baby calmed down hearing Ben’s voice.
Snotlout crosses his arms after he took the baby. “Whatever. She doesn’t like me! Like every other female in existence” he huffed
Astrid looked wide eyed, “Is that a baby?” She asked them with concern. Then looked at Ben and Snotlout, “oh what did you guys do?!” She begin to get defensive.
“ Me and Snotlout found a merchant ship while on patrol that was wrecked. I was in Nightfury form when I heard her crying. We checked for her parents but there weren’t any other survivors.” Ben squeaked a bit when Astrid raised her voice at him. His arms curling the baby closer to his chest protecting her.
Astrid sighed and relaxed. “You’re sure she’s the only survivor?” She asked then looked up at Hiccup, then back to Ben and Snotlout. “Well she needs a home…..or someone to care for her” she spoke. “Until then I suppose….if Hiccup is okay with it we can take her in for the night so she has the right food” she spoke. Then looked up to Hiccup, “wha do you think?” She asked.
Snotlout looked at Ben, “Well Ben and I found her we should have a say too. I mean Ben should, she doesn’t like me.” He spoke to them
“I’d really appreciate that Astrid. It would give me and Snotlout to talk about what we are going to do.” Ben said as he nods in appreciation to the general before looking over at his chief. “We’ll take her in for tonight.” Hiccup said to the two riders.
Astrid nods and gives a small smile. She puts her arms out and comes close to Ben. She gently takes the infant from him and looks down at the little one. “She’s in good hands…..you did a good thing bringing them here to us Ben. And of course you too Snotlout” she spoke and she begun to cradle the baby. Smiling down at it. “We need to feed her, and get her changed.” She said to Hiccup.
Snotlout looked at how easy the pregnant Astrid could settle and hold the baby. She made it look easy. He thought. He then looked at Ben. “I guess we have a lot to talk about huh?” He asked him. And stepped next to him holding his hand.
“ Yeah I guess we do,” Ben took Snotlout’s hand as the two walked back to their hut. Iona was bounding along playing with Hookfang as the young Dragoness was half of Toothless’s size now. Hiccup wrapped an arm around Astrid’s waist looking down at the infant in her arms curious. “ Maybe this could be our chance to start the family we’ve talked about Snotlout.”Ben said to his bethrothed hopeful for that this was their chance to start to start their family. Despite the fact the hero could get pregnant in his Nightfury form, that was impossible while he was human.
Astrid cradled the baby. She looked down at the little girl “she beautiful. It’s a shame she was found with no one to take care of her…..I’m glad they found her” she spoke to Hiccup as they walked by the dragons.
Snotlout looked at Ben and he chewed on his lip a bit before scratching the back of his head. “Ben I just…..I’m not sure in suites to be a dad.” He put out. He looked down at the ground then breathed. “A baby and raising a baby at that is a lot of work….it’s not a pet. It’s not a dragon” he explained. His heart and stomach seemed to race and thump and sink all at once. He was anxious.
“ She lucky to have Ben and Snotlout to find her instead of some hunters or pirates.” Hiccup hummed as the baby looked up at the two Viking’s warily, her expression curious as she babbled up at Astrid. Toothless was watching the trio interacting his head tilting as he warbles softly.
Ben firmly but comfortingly takes one of Snotlout’s hands into his own. “ I could understand how nervous you must be right now. I’m shitting my pants right now knowing I’m gonna be a dad too. It’s not going to be easy, but we’ve been through more dangerous and challenging situations before. Plus, we won’t be alone while we’re raising her.”
Snotlout almost pulled his hands away. “This is just very sudden! Very VERY SUDDEN!” He exclaimed and he looked down. He breathed out. “I’m not gonna be able to convince you otherwise am I?” He asked him.
Astrid nods “I agree. I’m happy she’ll be safe. But are we sure we can trust snotlout and Ben to take care of her without killing her or themselves?” She asked with concern to hiccup. She smiled and began to him to the little one as she’d finished her talking.
Ben gave his bethrothed a knowing look as he smiled at the other Viking. “ Hey I know your gonna be great, you just gotta believe in yourself. “ Ben reassured Snotlout even though the alien hero was nervous himself.
