“Yeah we should if we want to get there in time for dinner.” he said and he turned and looked at the edge one last time, he lingered looking at everything had done and built and was sad when he thought about that this adventure was now over. He was brought out of his thoughts when he heard Astrid calling him, he turned towards her and looked up in the sky where she was, “Yeah I’m coming.” he said as he clambered up on Toothless and was quickly in the air with his friends ready to head home to Berk

As the hours of flying past though full of its usual commentary there was also a loud silence within the breeze. Astrid was laying back on Stormfly. Watching the clouds deep in some thought. They were minutes away fro Maine but she seemed dazed compared to usual.

What was next? She thought. Of course she’d probably work on training the A-team more. And help with fortifying berk more for the future to come. But outside that? She leaned her head up and looked over at Hiccup. She smiled softly at seeing him.

Hiccup was the last one to come join the others after he had
finished packing, he finished packing up some of the extra fins for Toothless,
drawings of more gadgets and prototype weapons along with the tools he had
brought with him. He came and met up with the others and he couldn’t ignore the
looks on their faces, he felt the same way things were good they were leaving
these islands knowing all the dragons were safe and it was because of them, but
at the same time he was sad to leave their home they had made here. “Hey guys,
is everyone packed and ready to go?” He asked everyone and then he looked over
at Astrid and saw the look on he face, “Astrid, are you ok?” He asked her
worriedly.

She nodded, “Yea I’m fine. why wouldn’t I be?” She asked him. She turned after finishing her statement and with ease moved onto Stormflys back. “We should get going” she said to them all and they all nodded. One by one getting onto their dragons. Astrid looked over dragon’s edge and sighed out. Then caught another glimpse of Hiccup. She hated feeling helpless. It wasn’t her thing.

“You comin Hiccup?” She asked him and looked over everyone making sure they were all set and everyone was good.

Hiccup was the last one to come join the others after he had

Astrid looked over dragon’s edge and sighed out. Then caught another glimpse of Hiccup. She hated feeling helpless. It wasn’t her thing.

“That would be a good idea Snotlout but Its kinda far go to from here, we need somewhere closer and confuse it so it won’t follow us back to Berk.” He said as he dodged an incoming mass of amber that was flying his way. “Fishlegs, any ideas?” he asked his friend, Fishlegs was the main dragon expert and knew all of the facts of dragons and the surrounding islands like the back of his hand. 

The twins spoke up, “Fishlegs stayed behind he’s covering Astrid’s sticky situation” Ruffnut laughed. “but he gave us his cards!” Tuffnut said. The zippleback quickly dodged a amber attack and flew up next to Toothless and reached out handing Hiccup the cards.

When they landed Hiccup felt Astrid cling to him for a
moment, he gently wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back after she
kissed his cheek. He hummed lightly. Enjoying the moment, “Ok.” Here replied to
her happily before giving her one last extra little squeeze.

He got off and met with Toothless, “Hey bud, how you doing?”
He asked the dragon curiously, to which he got a bunch of sad warbles in
response, “Hey, I know Bud. But this isn’t goodbye its, see you later. We can
always always come and visit.” He said trying to cheer up Toothless before they
went on one last flight around the island. “You up for one last ride around the
island bud?” He asked the dragon, at that Toothless got a little more excited and
moved to help Hiccup climb up on his back. Hiccup clambered on the dragon’s
back and hooked in his peg leg to steer the dragon, “Let’s go Bud, come on
Astrid one last time around the island.” He said as the dragon leapt into the
air.

Astrid watched them. Their bond was incredible, their bond had brought them so far from what they once were. As people, as Vikings, as a tribe. She thought to herself. She watched him climb onto toothless and smiled. Nodding in response to his statement. “Let’s go girl.” She said and took off just a moment behind Hiccup. A smile on her face as she and him and their dragons flew higher by the second. One another within the other’s reach. The freedom of the air. The bond she felt. It always was strongest in the air.

Hiccup enjoyed the sights, he rarely got the chance to just relax and enjoy the sights without having to worry about steering the dragon. After a few moments he spotted Toothless at the night terror watch tower, “There he is.” he said as he watched the dragon walking around looked around the island from the ground, he knew he was feeling the same way as he and Astrid was.

Astrid quickly began her descent towards toothless and and as she neared him she could see toothless too was sad about leaving as much as they were. How he interacted with the other dragon’s proved so.

When Stormfly landed she felt the need to just cling to Hiccup. And for a moment she did. She’d turned around and hugged his neck. Kissing him on the cheek. And it stayed like that for a moment before she pulled back and she smiled. “Go on babe, lets fly” she said and brushed a piece of bang behind her ear with a slight pink hue to her face.

“I can, because you cant fight right now and I need you to get the others, we need to this thing out of here. Now go!” he said as he helped his girlfriend on her dragon and sent her away. He turned his attention to the dragon and came up next to Toothless as he was in a standoff with the death song and he slowly reached in the saddle bag and pulled out his sword and lit it getting ready for a fight. 

She growled at him sending her off but she knew in the reality of it all she wasn’t gonna be much use. So she let Stormfly carry her to the Edge and when they landed the dragon carefully eased her down. “GUYS!” She called out. “HICCUPS IN TROUBLE. He needs back up on the West side of the island” she explained.
