She smiled softly and exited the room. The door closed behind her and the lock was turned as for locking astrid back in.

“I’m a warrior. Taught to pay attention to people and surroundings at all times. Not a lot goes past me” She said to him. She picked at her food. “You can hold me against my will at this point but you won’t make me marry you.” She said. “So I see no reason as to why she’d be jealous?” She added though as if almost a question. She looked at him but wasn’t able to bring herself to smile such as he did.

“she sees every woman that i try and get close to, be it romantic or platonic” Jack could not help but give out a chuckle. “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” Jack smiled a bright smile and looked over at astrid “Dont let her bother you tho, if she dose anything to you just tell me”

“She’s not my worry. I’ve taken on children scarier then her.” She said to him and rolled her eyes. She seemed to stare at her plate and got lost.

After a long quiet moment she looked back up and blinked. Focusing back in on the world around her. “Um….so you have maids and servants I saw?” She asked him.

Jack laughed at her remark about his general “i suppose you have”

He looked over at her and gave a soft smile “i have some yes, we are a small town, and its diffucult to find jobs for everyone. So employing theme here is the best outcome. Some of them are stranded outlanders as yourself actually, those who chose to stay behind”

She listened to him closely. Almost looking over his charming smile: she notice and for some reason it cause her heart to almost tense but she shook it off. “Chose to stay?” She asked him curiously.

Jack nodded “some chose to stay, some go into the wild and probably gets eaten by dragons. We dont know” he took a piece of bread and took a bite before yawning. “we usually dont go looking.

She noticed the yawn, “Uou were up pretty late last night. What were you doing?” The Viking woman asked him. She’d finished her food already and so now she watched him. “Also what do you want of me today?” She asked.

he looked up a bit surprised “you saw me huh?.. sorry that must have looked horrefying.” he chuckled before looking down at his hands, still having some blood stuck under his nails “i sacrificed a goat to the gods for our crops to grow plentifull as the game is getting lesser. As cheif i am the one the gods listen to.. so its my job to do sacrifises”

He sat back and smiled “i thought i could show you around town. I also wanted to show you why this island isnt completly frozen over”

She listened to him. Noticing him looking st his hands she thought of something but kept to herself about it. “I suppose I could be okay with that. Not like I’ve got much of a choice.” She said to him. She stood up and went to grab the cloak to cover herself. Making visible that she’d added her armored shoulder plates to her dress and her fur hood along with her arm wrappings. “…..it wasn’t really that horrifying…I hope you know” she said going back to his comment earlier.

“of course you got a choice, its not like im gonna drag you along by the braid” he joked as he finished his own food and got up “now! im getting my shoes, you can wait for me outside if you want to”

She gave an awkward laugh at his comment and touched her braid almost protectively. She watched him suddenly jump up and she nodded. Unless he was to harm her at the moment she needed to stay calm and alert. As he walked out she gave it a minute before she walked out of her room. She looked Dow the hall and curiously tracked her way back to the outside of the large home.

jack wasnt far behind, yet again wearing a blue tuniq and leather boots. He had a bag hanging around his shoulder and a bright smile draped on his face “so you ready?”

She nodded. Her expression more determined then relaxed. It wasn’t something she was quite ready to do. But she watched him. She’d decided to leave the cloak after all. And followed behind him.

Jack lead her through the town, showing her around. Showing the blacksmith, food storage, the docks. He showed her the gate that lead out of town and up to a big mountain, steam rising all over its sumit “that is the reason we are not frozen solid, the volcano keeps our ground warm, water runs though caves under the ground…. hold on! come with me!”

He grabbed her hand and started pulling her with him bacl through the town

Astrid listened in close as he went over everything about the village. She looked at the steam of the mountain with such curiousness.

But before She could say anything Jack grabbed her and suddenly started pulling her back to the village quickly. It had thrown her off guard. She picked up the skirt of the dress he’d given her with one hand as to keep up with the snowy haired Chief.

Jack ran through the village back to the great hall and stopped for air “i am now going to show you something i am a hundres precent sure Berk dosnt have” He smiled as he pulled her with him into the mountsin cave. but instead of going up to the throne room, he lead her into a side path that went deep into the mountain. It got darker, only lit by fire untill they got to a hall with holes to let in natural light. And the sound of birds screaming an waves was heard. At the end of this natural chambers was a door. This was where he stopped and pulled his shoes and socks off

“Take your shoes off” He softly commanded

Astrid was trying to keep up, She was caught off guard by his speed. As they neared the throne room, “But we’ve been…..” she topped mid sentence as he then took her to a small side hall she’d not noticed before.

She held his hand still. As the hall darkened she didn’t panic. After the time she’d been temporarily blinded the dark was almost an old friend. She noticed the fire lighting the way as the went deeper. The natural light seemed to shimmer in the hall.

As they reached a door, she stopped a few steps behind Jack. As he commanded she strip of her shoes she did just that. “Where are we going?” She asked him. Her heart raced some.
